Debra Kaye Roen

July 11, 1951 - May 2, 2026

DEBRA KAYE ROEN (NICKNAME: DEIDRE) born July 11, 1951 in Olivia,  Minnesota and died May 2, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona. 

Survived by her Husband with 39 years of marriage – Thomas Howard Roen of Arizona. Her mother  Mary E Dietz and father Wayne W. Dietz passed before her and both are buried at Fort Snelling in  Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

She is the eldest of three sisters – survived by her middle sister Cindy Fisher(Eden Prairie) who is  married To James and has two children Meghan and Kevin who both have children. Survived by her youngest sister Elizabeth Treece (Plainfield. Illinois). 

She graduated Anoka High School – Anoka, Minnesota. 

She graduated St Cloud University in Minnesota with a degree in Library Science. 

She worked at the Twin Cities Minneapolis-St Paul Airlines for twenty years and left Northwest  Airlines to move to Sedona, Arizona when her husband’s job was outsourced to IBM. 

She enjoyed riding horses in new places like Lake Tahoe, Wisconsin Dells, and Supersitious Mountain. She loved to travel by jet to Jamaica, New Orleans, La Jolla-California, Florida – Disneyworld and  Thunderbay Canada – rock hunting for Amethyst. 

She served her church (SUUF – Sedona Unitarian Universalist Fellowship)– even on the board – as a  greeter, welcoming new members, the backpack program for kids and church fund raisers. 

She loved and had many cats through her life – the latest Fog and Mariah. 

She was very creative – crochet afghans, snoods, hats, mittens and blankets. 

She sewed Native American seed beads into necklaces and bracelets as well as coloring adult coloring  books using colored pencils. 

She loved to dance to almost any song or any kind of dance she would try even belly dancing, zumba and  dancing at church dances. 

She wished that she could had visited all European Castles from her interest in Renaissance music and  style of clothing they wore. 

She was sociable, an extrovert, an empath, caring, loving, kind and helpful to many with her zest for  living life and had time to watch serene views near Cathedral Rock with Oak creek at Crescent Moon. 

She read books based on history like Outlander TV series, Game of Thrones TV series, books by John  Grisham, Diana Gabaldon, and watched Dark Winds TV series, Harry Potter movies and anything with  good witches in like Bewitched and the Good Witch TV series. 

Her very favorite movie and book was The Mists of Avalon(author Marion Zimmer Bradley).  She felt like a Druidess like Merlin born at the wrong time. She like dressing up as an Elf or a Princess. She enjoyed having “PRECIOUS MOMENTS” collectibles and stuffed animals – frogs, bears,  monkeys, owls, cats, and turtles. No funeral but a Celebration of her life at Sedona United Methodist  Church at noon May 10, 2026 at 3026 State Route 179, Sedona, AZ 86336 and corner of Indian Cliff  Road after SUUF services (start at 1030AM). Any donations would be welcome at SUUF.
