Gary Michael Blalock

June 26, 1974 - April 20, 2026

Gary Michael Blalock, 51, of Flagstaff, Arizona, passed away on April 20, 2026.

Gary was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona, a place he knew and loved deeply.

He was naturally drawn to the outdoors, especially the mountains he knew so well. He enjoyed hiking around the San Francisco Peaks and Mt. Elden with his dogs, who were constant companions and a source of comfort and joy at home. A true adrenaline junkie at heart, he loved snowboarding at Arizona Snowbowl and riding his motorcycles down dirt roads and open highways. Whether he was on the mountain or out on the road, he found his kind of peace in movement and adventure.

Music was a big part of his everyday life and he was always up for a good concert. Since he was a teenager, he had a deep love for heavy metal and rock and roll, often cranking it loud and fully enjoying the moment.

He spent 18 years working at W. L. Gore, where he was respected for his reliability and strong work ethic. He was not only valued as a colleague but also genuinely loved by those he worked with, many of whom became some of his closest friends.

More than anything, Gary was a loving father and a caring son. He was also a genuine friend and a kind human. His presence was warm, easy, and inviting. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcomed just by being himself.

Even in his passing, Gary gave selflessly, offering the gift of life to others through the donation of his kidneys, liver, and heart.

He is survived by his father, James Blalock; his daughter, Ashlee Bedard; his son, Koby Blalock; and his three grandsons, Colt, Cooper, and Bennett. His family was his true pride and joy, and they will miss him endlessly.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on June 7th from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. at Hart Prairie Lodge at Arizona Snowbowl.

Gary will be deeply missed by all who loved him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the lives he saved.
