
Douglas Eugene Hughes, born on August 10, 1988, in Peoria, IL, has sadly passed away on April 19, 2023,
in Phoenix, AZ. He was a hardworking and skilled individual who dedicated his life to various fields that
demanded craftsmanship such as landscaping and construction. Despite not having a formal education
beyond his GED, Douglas possessed an immense talent for working with his hands.
Described as a fun-loving guy with a huge heart, Douglas was the embodiment of generosity and
compassion. A selfless individual who would go to great lengths to help others, he was known for his
willingness to give everything he had without hesitation. From giving someone the shoes off his own
feet to offering assistance wherever it was needed, Douglas consistently showed the depths of his
kindness.
With an unyielding spirit and a desire for personal freedom, Douglas lived life on his own terms. He
embraced every moment with enthusiasm and determination, refusing to let obstacles hinder his
pursuit of happiness. This free-spirited nature allowed him to leave an indelible mark on those fortunate
enough to know him.
Douglas will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. He leaves behind cherished
memories for Debra L. Pearson (mother), Joseph R. Pearson (step-father), and his beloved children:
Zackery, Natalie, and Reddick. His unconditional love and unwavering support will forever live on in their
hearts.
As we gather here today to mourn the loss of Douglas Eugene Hughes, let us also celebrate the
extraordinary life he led. Through the legacy of his kindness and caring nature, he has left an enduring
impact that will continue to inspire us all.
