
Marta Juliana Peña died peacefully on June 19, 2025, at 3:22 p.m. She was 67 years old.
Born on August 24, 1957, in Passaic, New Jersey, Marta graduated from Pope Pius XII High School. Between August 1976 and June 1978, she pursued her passion for the arts, studying music and art at Caldwell College and local community colleges and technical institutes.
In January 1999, Marta made a new home in Arizona, where she dedicated herself to a long and meaningful career in behavioral health care. She served her community with compassion and integrity until her retirement in 2023.
Marta is lovingly remembered by her son, Mario Peña; her sister, Louise York (husband, Tim); her brother, Gregory Gentile; her aunt and uncle, Gail and Arthur Gennaro; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is reunited in rest with her beloved husband, Rocky Nelson Peña; her brother, Louis James Gentile; and her parents, Louis and Grace Gentile.
Marta’s gentle spirit, creativity, and care for others touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

she was my sister from another mister, we basically grew up together. she was my first friend when i first moved to Passaic. she had such a big heart! i used to call her mother Theresa cause she cared so much for people. a piece of my heart is missing now, also i am a better person for knowing her..
