VIRGINIA EARLENE MAYBERRY

October 28, 1929 - January 2, 2025

Virginia Earlene Mayberry, 95, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025. Born on October 28, 1929, in Arlington, Texas, Virginia moved with her family to Phoenix in 1934, where she spent the majority of her life.

Virginia’s early years were marked by her parents’ entrepreneurial spirit. After relocating to Phoenix, her parents Earl and Cora Lee Dick owned and operated a grocery store and barbershop on Northern Avenue, instilling in Virginia the values of hard work and community.

Virginia attended Glendale High School and worked at Shure Electronics. As a devoted mother and daughter, she tirelessly cared for her family, often taking on additional jobs, such as ironing and cleaning houses, to provide for her loved ones. Her unwavering dedication and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Virginia was renowned for her incredible cooking and baking, which have and continue to be a cornerstone of family gatherings. Her recipes and culinary wisdom have been lovingly passed down, with many in her family proudly continuing her traditions in their own kitchens.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Earl and Cora Lee Dick; her husband, Keith Mayberry; her brother, Howard Dick; her sister, Sharon Adams; and her son, Kurt Mayberry.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Keith Mayberry; Kenneth Mayberry (Pam); Kirby Mayberry (Kathy); as well as her cherished grandchildren: Kandus Mayberry (Shaka), Kohl Mayberry (Meghan), Nicole Mayberry, Brittney Mayberry, Chad Mayberry (Daria), McKenna Daines (Ryan), Lena Hammond, Jasmine Mayberry, and Singer Mayberry. Her legacy of love and determination will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., at Community of Grace Lutheran Church, 10561 W. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Peoria, AZ 85383.
Virginia will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
